Visualizing Victory: Propaganda Around Military Victories in Antiquity - WAWIC 2025
Throughout ancient history, rhetorical and visual strategies played a pivotal role in shaping perceptions of military victories and crafting compelling narratives. This panel seeks to investigate the techniques of propaganda used to portray military triumphs in Antiquity. We welcome contributions that analyze the depiction of specific victories, aiming to uncover both similarities and differences in propaganda across cultures.
Scholars at all career stages are encouraged to submit proposals for 20-minute presentations in English. Submissions should include a title, a 300-word abstract, and a brief bio. Please send proposals to the panel organizers and Dr. Lennart Gilhaus (lgilhaus@uni-bonn.de) by January 15, 2025.
